Animal, featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, has kicked off with an outstanding performance at the Indian box office, poised to exceed initial expectations on its opening day. Early indicators suggest that the Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed film is on track to amass between Rs 48.00 to 51.00 crore in Hindi, marking the highest-ever opening for an A-rated movie. Despite challenges like runtime constraints and competition clashes, the film has triumphed over the box office on its debut day.

Comparatively, the film outshines two Shah Rukh Khan ventures, "Pathaan" and "Jawan," which secured Rs 27.02 crore and Rs 29.96 crore, respectively, across the three chains. Animal's nationwide net opening day collection is estimated to reach around Rs 60 crore, marking the second-highest for a Hindi-origin film after "Jawan." The movie's appeal extends across national chains, non-national chains, and single screens, drawing substantial audiences eager to witness Ranbir Kapoor in a compelling larger-than-life role with intriguing shades of grey.
