Ankita Lokhande makes Bollywood comeback in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar alongside Randeep Hooda post Bigg Boss 17.



Following her impactful journey on Bigg Boss 17 where she secured the third runner-up position, Ankita Lokhande is poised for a Bollywood return in the biographical film 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.' The Pavitra Rishta actress is set to play a crucial role in this Randeep Hooda directorial.

Randeep Hooda's directorial debut, "Swatantrya Veer Savarkar," is set for a theatrical release on March 22, 2024, as revealed in the recent date announcement. This biographical film portrays the life of Veer Savarkar, a key figure in India's struggle for independence.


Sharing the date announcement clip with the people Randeep Hooda wrote, "Two heroes of Indian Independence Struggle; One celebrated and One removed from History On #MartyrsDay 2024 - HISTORY WILL BE REWRITTEN #SwatantryaVeerSavarkar IN CINEMAS ON 22nd March, 2024."




Known for films like Sultan and Highway, Randeep aims to pay tribute to the legendary freedom fighter in his directorial debut, which will be released in Hindi and Marathi. The short clip opens with a sketch that initially resembles Mahatma Gandhi, but transforms into Veer Savarkar as it completes. The background music is a lively Marathi track. We can also hear a voiceover saying, “Mujhe Gandhi se nahi, ahinsa se nafrat hai.”


In addition to Randeep Hooda, Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial play crucial roles in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. Zee Studios is producing the biographical film, initially set to be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. However, creative differences led to his withdrawal, with Randeep Hooda assuming the directorial reins.

Ankita Lokhande is now making waves as a finalist in Bigg Boss 17, hosted by Salman Khan. Recognized for her role as Archana in Pavitra Rishta, alongside the late Sushant Singh Rajput, she entered Bollywood with her debut in Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi in 2019.
