During a recent interview, Vikrant Massey shared that his grandfather had been involved in over 200 films and had been honored twice with a gold medal in the All India Dramatic competition.




Amidst the ongoing success of "12th Fail" and the joy of becoming a father recently, Vikrant Massey disclosed in a recent interview that his grandfather, Ravikant Massey, had a rich legacy in the entertainment industry. Vikrant shared that his grandfather had a multifaceted career, working as an actor, director, and producer in theater, and had contributed to over 200 films.


Vikrant Massey Shares Insights into His Grandfather's Career


During a conversation with YouTuber Samdish Bhatia, Vikrant Massey delved into the professional journey of his grandfather, Ravikant Massey, revealing that he had contributed to over 200 films, including notable titles like Guide and Naya Daur. Vikrant shared, "My grandfather, Ravikant Massey, was an artist himself. He was awarded the gold medal twice in the All India Dramatic competition by the former President of India, Rajendra Prasad."


The actor also disclosed that his grandfather was extensively involved with the Gaiety theatre in Shimla, where he served as an actor, director, and producer. Additionally, despite his theatrical commitments, Ravikant Massey managed a full-time job as a hotel manager in Shimla.


"He has appeared in over 200 Hindi films, such as 'Naya Daur' and 'Guide.' However, he often played supporting roles, such as lawyers or doctors. Moreover, during those times, actors had to bring their own props and costumes to the set," Vikrant added.




Insights into "12th Fail"


The film "12th Fail" marked a significant milestone in Massey's career trajectory. In the movie, he portrayed the character of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who triumphs over dire poverty to achieve his dream of becoming an IPS officer. Medha Shankr played the role of IRS inspector Shraddha Joshi. Through its narrative, the film adeptly portrays the challenges faced by countless students striving to crack the UPSC entrance exam.

Vikrant Massey's Professional Ventures


Following his notable role in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's "12th Fail," Vikrant is reportedly set to collaborate with acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani for his upcoming project. Although initial reports suggested a potential collaboration between Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor, the director has shifted his focus to a new endeavor—a web series. According to News 18, this series will feature Vikrant Massey in the lead role and will delve into the realm of cybercrime.


Directed by Amir Satyaveer Singh, who has previously worked alongside Hirani, the series promises an engaging exploration of cybercrime, with Vikrant Massey portraying the character of a cybercrime security expert.
