In an exclusive interview, Emraan Hashmi shared insights, stating, “It’s not an internal voice… It’s my wife.” The Showtime actor opened up about kissing scenes and his personal evolution in the indus

Emraan Hashmi recently discussed the evolution of his on-screen persona during a fan meet and greet.

Emraan Hashmi, formerly known as Bollywood's "serial kisser," has opened up about his evolution regarding filming kissing scenes. In a candid fan interaction on Bollywood Hungama's Hangout, the actor discussed why he has become more selective with such scenes.

When probed about actors requesting kissing scenes, Hashmi, playfully acknowledging his wife's presence, amusingly sidestepped giving a completely candid response. However, he provided a more genuine viewpoint, stating, "From the outset, I've aimed to dial it down. It became a predictable element to appease the audience, and producers exploited it. At times, it felt routine, while other times it felt rather comical. Now, upon reflecting on my own films, I genuinely believe they weren't essential."

When pressed about actors requesting kissing scenes, Hashmi, with a playful nod to his wife watching, humorously dodged a fully truthful answer. However, he offered a more sincere perspective: "From the beginning, I've always wanted to tone it down. It became a staple thing to please the audience and producers capitalized on it. Sometimes it was staple, sometimes really funny. Now, when I watch my own films, I honestly feel they weren't necessary."

Regarding his upcoming web series, produced by Dharmatic Entertainment and led by showrunner Mihir Desai, "Showtime" offers an intriguing delve into the darker aspects of the film industry. Featuring a stellar cast including Rajeev Khandelwal, Shriya Saran, and the iconic Naseeruddin Shah, the series is set to captivate audiences. It's worth noting that Bollywood Hungama previously reported that the show tackles the issue of nepotism within the Hindi film industry.

The unveiling of Showtime occurred in September last year. At that moment, Karan Johar stated in the official press release that the show would "reveal the hidden truths behind the Indian entertainment industry's largest secrets."
