"I acknowledged my addiction": Pooja Bhatt opens up about personal struggles


In addition to her prominent presence in Bollywood, she ventured into the TV industry through her participation in the show Bigg Boss. In a past episode of the show, she openly talked about her struggle with alcohol addiction, highlighting the pivotal moment when she recognized it and decided to overcome it.


"I confronted my drinking problem, leading me to acknowledge my addiction and commit to quitting," the actress revealed. She emphasized the societal challenges women face in openly recovering from such issues, noting the lack of a societal license compared to men. Reflecting on her past behavior of openly drinking, she questioned the need to recover in secrecy once she realized the importance of quitting.


She went on to reveal that she had been labeled as an alcoholic by many, but she would clarify by stating that she is a 'recovering alcoholic.'
