Farhan Akhtar holds a special place in the hearts of Indian multiplex audiences, garnering immense love for his directorial ventures such as "Dil Chahta Hai," "Lakshya," "Don," and "Don 2" among urban cinema-goers. Now, gearing up to helm "Don 3" starting from August, the accomplished filmmaker is dedicated to crafting his most monumental installment in the Don franchise.

As per insider information, "Don 3" is slated to become the most extravagant installment in the Don series. While "Don 1" and "Don 2" featuring Shah Rukh Khan were crafted within reasonable budgets, Farhan Akhtar's vision for "Don 3" extends beyond domestic boundaries. The aim is to transcend the confines of Indian action cinema and create a globally appealing film. With Ranveer Singh leading the charge, "Don 3" marks Farhan's endeavor to establish the franchise on an international scale, as revealed by a source close to the project.
The insider also disclosed that "Don 3" is slated to have a budget of Rs. 275 crore, excluding expenses for printing and publicity. The action sequences have been conceptualized to rival those in the Spy Universe. However, what sets "Don 3" apart from other Indian action films is its protagonist, who exhibits shades of negativity, as mentioned by the source.
The "Don" franchise holds a special significance for Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, both of whom are dedicated to honoring its legacy and ushering in a new era with Ranveer Singh at the helm. Scheduled for a 2025 release, the film also stars Kiara Advani in a leading role.
