Having graced the Indian film industry since childhood, seasoned Bollywood actress Tanuja, mother to Kajol and Tanishaa Mukerji, was recently hospitalized in Mumbai. Moved to the ICU due to age-related concerns, the latest updates indicate an imminent discharge.


Actress Tanuja Set to Make Swift Recovery, Expected to be Discharged from Hospital Soon


According to the latest update from PTI, veteran actress Tanuja, who was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) at a Mumbai hospital, is showing significant improvement. A source revealed to the news agency on Monday that she is in much better health and is anticipated to be released within the next couple of days. The source mentioned, "She is much improved and is expected to be discharged in a day or two.


Admitted to a Juhu hospital on Sunday evening for age-related concerns, the 80-year-old actress Tanuja, renowned for her contributions to Hindi and Bengali cinema in the 1960s and 1970s, is celebrated for her roles in films such as Deya Neya, Teen Bhubaner Pare, and Prothom Kadam Phool.

Born to filmmaker Kumarsen Samarth and actress Shobhna Samarth, Tanuja, who later became the mother-in-law of actor Ajay Devgn, commenced her cinematic journey as a child actor in the 1950 film "Hamari Beti," which also marked the debut of her elder sister Nutan. Almost a decade later, Tanuja officially entered the world of films, taking on a starring role in the 1961 production "Hamari Yaad Aayegi," which was produced by her mother, Shobhna Samarth.

Throughout her career, Tanuja has been associated with noteworthy projects such as "Chand Aur Suraj," "Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi," "Jewel Thief," "Antony Firingee," "Jeene Ki Raah," "Rajkumari," "Haathi Mere Saathi," "Mere Jeevan Saathi," and "Do Chor," among others. Additionally, she is a celebrated actress who left a lasting impact on Bengali cinema in her earlier years. Tanuja, renowned for her roles in TV series like "Aarambh" and "Junoon," is also the mother of actors Kajol and Tanishaa Mukerji.


About Kajol's Work


In 2021, Kajol made her presence felt in the Netflix anthology film Lust Stories 2, marking her second venture into the realm of OTT after her debut in Tribhanga. She has actively participated in various OTT projects, notably taking on the role of a lawyer in the legal drama series The Trial.
