Mumbai, West Bengal, South, and Gujarat outperformed, compensating for the Diwali impact in North India. Laxmi Pooja, traditionally considered less favorable for the movie business, witnessed a groundbreaking performance as Tiger 3 secured the largest opening ever for an Indian film on this auspicious day. Surpassing the cumulative collections of Hindi films on Laxmi Pooja Day, Tiger 3's box office success rivals that of Ra.One, which had a release in just under 3000 screens in India back in 2011. Notably, the record for the highest tickets sold on Lakshmi Pooja Day remains with the 2012 releases Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar, both achieving hit status despite their controversial clash.
