When is the Stree 3 Release Date?
Producer Dinesh Vijan recently confirmed that Stree 3 will be released in theatres in 2028. While an exact date has not been locked in yet, Vijan hinted that the team is targeting a major holiday weekend. According to the producer, Stree 3 will likely be an Independence Day or Christmas Day present for fans in 2028.
Interestingly, a Christmas 2028 release could set up a massive box office clash with Marvel’s Black Panther 3. Previously, the film was expected to arrive earlier, with a rumored date of August 13, 2027. However, the timeline has now been officially pushed back by a year.
Why Was Stree 3 Delayed?
The delay from 2027 to 2028 comes down to the busy schedule of the franchise’s visionary director, Amar Kaushik. Kaushik is currently gearing up to helm another highly ambitious project for Maddock Films titled Mahavatar. Vijan confirmed that Kaushik is an integral part of the Stree universe and will return to direct the third chapter as soon as he wraps up production on Mahavatar.
The good news? The wait won’t be due to script issues. Vijan confirmed that Amar Kaushik has already finished writing the script for Stree 3.
